Devoted students ‘basically’ band together under God

Abby Crutchfield, Editorial Editor

BASIC is a club that is devoted to showing God’s love in school. It is a place where young Christians can get together without feeling judged for their beliefs.

According to senior Glori Hammye, BASIC has some awesome events planned for the year.  They host See You at the Pole, Back to School Bash, and parties for Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holidays.

They meet every other week to worship, grow in the faith, and play fun games.

If one is looking for a place to go where one will feel safe, BASIC is the location to be. All students are welcome to come.

Their goal is to help students strengthen their faith. They want it to be a solid place where students can be proud of their faith.

BASIC does not participate in competitions at other schools. However, they play lots of games at their meetings.

They have meetings before school, or during CAP. They often serve breakfast while they teach a scripture lesson. Then they have a fun activity or game.

There are about 15 BASIC members.

Junior Derek Jesse and Glori are co-presidents of the club. Junior Emma Yunk is the STUCO rep. Sophomore Kylie Garner is both secretary and treasurer.
