Staffer gives multiple ways to save Earth’s environment, world

Eric Pabon, Entertainment Editor

The Earth is rapidly being depleted of her natural resources. We must find ways to preserve the planet.

For example, water is being wasted. Each year, a family can waste up to 9400 gallons of water a year. That’s 180 gallons a week.

There are a number of ways that we, as a community and school, can do to cut down on water.

Everyone has heard of the tactic to shut off the faucet while brushing teeth, but why don’t we cut out the problem entirely and just stop brushing our teeth?

According to the EPA, (the United States Environmental Agency) 1.2 trillion gallons of water are wasted in the shower each year. We should cut out showering entirely. Instead, we revert back to ancient Rome culture and have bath houses.

Additionally, instead of using water fountains to fill up water bottles, we can just use a five-gallon bucket full of water.

Running the dishwasher wastes a lot of water as well. Instead of washing dishes, it would be better to just lick the plate clean yourself.

Pets would also greatly appreciate it if you allowed them to lick the dishes.

However, please, for the love of God, wash your hands. We are in a pandemic.
