Social media apps can be dangerous

How often do you post on social media? Do you post once a month, or every day?
I believe that technology companies are developing apps that are silently ruining teens’ lives.
Social media apps like Instagram and Snapchat are becoming more addictive each year.
These programs impact each user’s self-esteem. We constantly compare ourselves to others’ posts, likes, and followers.
These softwares also put up a fake cover. Filters and face-tuning apps only add to this dilemma.
When we use filters all the time, we tend to like our “new” appearance more than our real one.
Another reason we should distance ourselves from these apps is the addiction that comes along with it.
We spend many hours just scrolling on TikTok or watching useless videos on YouTube.
“There’s just not that many videos I want to watch,” said the cofounder of YouTube, Steve Chen.
If we are not interested in them, then why is it so addicting? This is exactly why we need to set limits for ourselves .
This is why I strongly encourage you to take a break from your phone for a while. It benefits your mind-set and your overall health.
